Petra’s connection with the CHEK Institute began in 2009 first as a client with the experience of self-healing and later as a student able to help other people regain their health.
Petra started her yoga practice in 2008, first with modern yoga methods, then later during her time living in the UK she was introduced by Dan Burt to traditional Ashtanga Yoga. Petra then started a daily practice of ashtanga yoga and studied with Nancy Gilgoff and Manju Jois. Petra is certified by Manju Jois to teach the Primary and Secondary series in the style of the way passed down from Pattabhi Jois, and is committed to annual study with Nancy and Manju.
Petra studied Indian Head Massage whilst in the UK and uses this massage technique to release the stresses that accumulate in the tissues and muscles, of the neck and shoulders.
Petra’s approach is to help clients holistically, based on the foundation principles of health, so that they can meet the challenges of modern life. She enjoys writing about ashtanga yoga and health related posts on her blog at ashtangaprague.wordpress.com
Daniel
- CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 2
Daniel has studied with and been coached by some of the world’s leading experts in health and fitness including the CHEK Institute, MovNat, Robb Wolf, Barefoot Ted and Lee Saxby.
For many years Daniel struggled with his weight, combined with a stressful job involving frequent international travel, eventually led to being incapacitated with an auto-immune disorder in 2008. It was clear to Daniel that the root causes of his health problems were self inflicted, however the conventional medical “industry” were only interested in alleviating his symptoms and not resolving the root causes. Daniel realized that he had to take responsibility for his own health and embarked on studies with the CHEK Institute Holistic Lifestyle Coaching (HLC) program and healed himself by implementing healthy lifestyle choices.
His journey back to health and vitality has been a re-connection with the cycles of nature, eating traditional real foods, correcting posture after years of sitting at a desk, learning to run and move injury free, using the Bates Method to relearn to see again without glasses and a daily chi practice to recover from late stage adrenal fatigue.
Daniel is a Chapter Leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation which is dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to the human diet through education, research and activism.
